The completion of Phase 1 of Miramichi Landings tourism development saw major physical and experiential changes to our community.

Here are some of the milestones:

• We completed renovations at Waterford Green, Vye's Beach, Bicentennial Park, Strawberry Marsh, and Middle Island;
• we installed interpretive signage at each of these sites to better tell the stories of our past;
• we also installed directional signage around the city so motorists could locate many of our sites and other key amenities with ease;
• we assisted the Miramichi Heritage Players with the rebirth of the Headless Nun Adventure, now a Tourism New Brunswick Experience Collection product;
• we outlined our future in our Interpretive Action Plan, with the help of many of the great citizens of Miramichi, in preparation for Phase 2 development;
• and we opened our Welcome Centre on Historic Water Street, where we assisted nearly 3,000 residents and visitors from May to October 2011.

We are heavily invloved in geocaching and play host to 15 geocaches (with another 18 on the way), spanning the whole of Miramichi. We are planning the launch of a geocaching experience for summer 2012, complete with beginners training and GPS rentals.

We are delighted to have made such a positive impact on our community and we are overwhelmed with all the feedback we've received, the smiles and waves, the support, and the strength Miramichi has to offer!
